About the Artist

Merissa Mann is an Ecofeminist artist exploring the intrinsic connection between the body and nature. She's fascinated by the dialectical quality of the beautiful and the bizarre. Ms. Mann works across mediums and styles to expound upon these generative themes. 

She specializes in gouache paintings on paper. She's drawn to the fluidity and immediacy of gouache. The pigment cannot be removed or painted over once applied to the paper. Each mark and stoke is placed with care (and some bravado).
​Ms. Mann often incorporates ink, washi paper, and specialty paints into her work. Some paintings have a glossy sheen, highlighting the viscous quality of her subjects.
