Merissa Mann (b.1995) fuses her background in costume design with her love of art history to create alluring paintings, photographs, and soft sculptures. Her work explores the intersection of eco feminism, horror, and its relationship to systems of desire. Ms. Mann visually highlights the interrelationship between bodily and natural systems to emphasize our shared connection with nature.
An award-winning artist, Ms. Mann holds an MFA in Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design. She received a BA in Practice of Art from UC Berkeley, where she was the first recipient of the Certificate in Design Innovation. Accolades include Best in Category at the Beverly Hills Art Show 2021 & 22. She recently performed her piece “Beluga Burlesque” at the esteemed Red Cat Theater as an invited guest performer for the CalArts’ “Talent Show”.
Ms. Mann currently lives and works in Los Angeles. When she is not painting or sewing, she can be found in the garden reading a book in the sun or snuggling on the couch with her two Maine Coon cats.
